14/11/2024
In order to introduce the value of the local-based sustainable development approach, promote unique traditional products and customs, on November 14, the UNESCO Hanoi Office coordinated with the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism and the Ninh Binh Provincial Cooperative Union to organize a workshop on product packaging methods (packaging), targeting local small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of tourism and traditional crafts in tourist areas and spots located in the World Heritage Site of Trang An
The workshop invited Japanese experts to share their experiences and knowledge on changing and packaging that can be applied appropriately to local tourism products.
In addition to introducing Japanese packaging technology and culture; exchange and interaction between experts from Japanese enterprises and local tourism businesses, the conference also brought a workshop to experience packaging products in the style of Furoshiki of Japan.
In traditional Japanese culture, Furoshiki is a unique and creative art of tying scarves. Originating from the early days of the 8th century, Furoshiki is an engineer who uses knots to wrap objects securely, especially when these knots bring appeal and artistry to gifts. This is a unique and sustainable packaging method, environmentally friendly because it uses soft, durable pieces of fabric to wrap and transport products, gifts and even food. Furoshiki-style gift tying is not simply a normal way of packaging but it becomes a creative art, creating beautiful shapes and protecting the products inside.
Participants in this workshop will experience wrapping products with Furoshiki towels and wrapping paper and take these products home.
Through the workshop on packaging products in the style of Japanese Furoshiki, businesses selling Ninh Binh tourism products can learn and apply to create unique and especially meaningful gifts.
Also within the framework of the program, on November 15, at Dong Gung bus station, Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area organized a display of packaged products for visitors. There are 20 sample packaging products and other packaging products with Japanese characteristics on display. Visitors can visit the display area and register to experience gift wrapping. This is definitely a quite interesting experience for tourists interested in Japanese culture.
