Conference “Orientation of Planning for the Conservation and Promotion of the Value of Tran Dynasty Relics in the World Heritage Site of Trang An Landscape Complex and its Surrounding Areas”
The conference was chaired by Mr Bui Van Manh, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Tourism. Also attending the conference were leaders of a number of departments, branches, experts, scientists, representatives of 12 communes and wards within the Heritage area, reporters from central and local news agencies and newspapers.
In his opening speech and introduction at the Conference, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, affirmed: The Tran Dynasty relics in the Trang AnLandscape Complex are not only symbols of cultural development, but also vivid evidence of the existence and development of Vietnamese history through the periods in the historic Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. In the World Heritage Site of the Trang An Landscape Complex, there are 03 groups of relics reflecting the historical process of Ninh Binh in the flow of national history, namely: the relic system in the caves of the prehistoric period associated with the settlement process of humans more than 30,000 years ago; Hoa Lu Capital of the Dinh - Tien Le period in the 10th century and the relic system related to the Vu Lam Palace of the Tran Dynasty in the 13th century.
Currently, the preservation and promotion of the value of the historical - cultural relics of the Tran Dynasty in the Trang An Landscape Complex is still facing many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, the system of Tran Dynasty relics needs to be integrated into the Plan for the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong National Special Scenic Landscape, Ninh Binh Province until 2030, with a vision to 2050, from which a strategy for the preservation and promotion of values for sustainable tourism development can be developed.
Presenting the central report, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Institute of Archaeology, highlighted: Vu Lam Palace has a very special historical and cultural value in the history of the nation.
The system of Tran Dynasty relics in the World Heritage Site of Trang An Landscape Complex and its vicinity is very rich and diverse with 7 archaeological relics containing traces related to Vu Lam Palace; 02 ruins of Buddhist towers of the Tran Dynasty, along with about 40 worshiping relics with legends, stories or worshiped characters related to the Tran Dynasty. These relics are not only symbols of cultural development, but also vivid evidence of the existence and development of Vietnamese history through the periods in the historical land of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. These relics clearly reflect the cultural, artistic, architectural and religious values of the most prosperous dynasty in the flow of history through the feudal dynasties of Vietnam.
Therefore, the system of relics of the Tran Dynasty in the Trang An Landscape Complex, especially the archaeological relics related to the Vu Lam Palace of the Tran Dynasty, is in great need of restoration, rehabilitation and promotion of value to contribute to strengthening and promoting the work of preserving and promoting the value of the relics, creating an important highlight in the Heritage area serving tourism exploitation, contributing to building the image of Vietnam's World Heritage in Ninh Binh province.
At the Conference, experts, scientists and business representatives exchanged and contributed important information on historical data related to Vu Lam Palace, discussed solutions for the Tran Dynasty relic system that need to be integrated into the Planning for the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong National Special Scenic Landscape, Ninh Binh Province until 2030, with a vision to 2050, from which a strategy for preserving and promoting values to serve sustainable tourism development can be developed.
The Conference on Orientation for Planning for the preservation and promotion of the values of Tran Dynasty relics in the World Heritage Site of Trang An Landscape Complex and its vicinity is an important event to clarify the role, significance and importance of Vu Lam Palace in national history, and at the same time identify key solutions to preserve and develop cultural tourism associated with Vu Lam Palace relic. Thereby continuing to honor, promote and spread the values of Heritage associated with sustainable tourism development, creating the premise for Ninh Binh to build a Millennium Heritage City in the near future.
